The Feasibility of Long-Haul Low-Cost Operations

In the past academics doubted the feasibility of long-haul low-cost operations. However, the expansion of carriers such as Norwegian and AirAsiaX proves that there is scope for such operations. Airneth organizes a seminar on the feasibility of long-haul low-cost operations on Wednesday 9 December.

Questions to be addressed during this seminar are: (1) to what extent can the low-cost business model be transferred into a long-haul model, (2) will developments in aircraft technology and labour markets enhance the scope for long-haul low-cost operations, (3) to what extent is there scope for such operations from the Netherlands and (4) how will this affect the competitive position of Schiphol Airport?
